Filter station maintenance throughout the season is critical.  A grower must routinely evaluate the flush time, dwell time, and interval time to ensure proper flushing is being met.

Filter thought to live by....
**If your filter is back flushing primarily by time early in the season then begins back flushing by pressure differential as the season goes on, YOUR FILTER IS NOT FLUSHING ADEQUATELY and you will find yourself with a 'deep' plugging issue.

Shown left:  Silt cake built up on top of sand media bed which blinded off flow.  If left too long silt can be worked down through media and cause 'deep' plugging in sand.
